A new banner

So much better...at least in my eyes. It has my favorite things on it...ink, staples, rhinestones....what more could you want? Yes, I know not everyone loves the grunge thing like I do, but I'm much happier now.

Anyway, it has been awhile. Not been in the blogging mood I guess. Have been busy with soccer starting again. I'm helping to coach Bella's team and Emma is playing as well. What else? Went to the Lifehouse concert a few weeks ago. I loved it. I could become a Lifehouse groupie I think. Anyway, I can't think of anything else to talk about, that is how exciting my life has been. I need to clean up the mess I made making the banner...you would be amazed how I can destroy an area just making that little thing. All for now. Have a good day.

another blurry layout

Sorry for the crappy photo, but once again, didn't feel like taking more to get a better one. you get the picture. I was running last Thursday, outside for the first time in months and I just kept going...ended up running 5 miles...and it was easy and fun (relatively speaking). While i was running I started thinking about how important it has become to me (gasp!) and how much I rely on it to stay sane, how much it helps me to keep my head on straight, how much it has helped me deal with all the crap of life in the past few years, how it makes me feel strong and powerful, how it gives me confidence, etc...so in honor of that....a layout. Still here....

Yep, I'm still here. Could it be that spring is actually coming? This has been the longest winter that I can remember. I'm sure it's probably not, but it is getting very very old. So it was lovely today to have sun and 60 degrees. The girls took advantage of it and got to play outside...without coats even...wow! I took a couple of pictures, but no one was terribly interested...thus the pictures suck...but still pictures in the sun....nice. anyway, will try to be a better blogger. bye for now.

Nothing much

Got a new header...don't particularly like it. Will have to try again soon. I had just noticed that the picture I had up was very old so I thought I should change it. Life has been a little roughed up lately, so don't have really much to share. I am going to a lifehouse concert next Friday night which I am excited about. Also am getting $$ back from my tax return...so that makes me happy. That is all for now. Have a great day.

Another little album

Can you tell I really like the mini album thing lately? I think it is because I feel finished with it and like I have actually accomplished something...unlike a big old layout you put in a big old book that is technically (at least in my case) never finished. Anyway, I had a bunch of these Heidi Swap mini file folders sitting around, so I hand sewed them altogether and fashioned this little book. Actually even used some really old supplies on this one. Perhaps someday I will run out of those. Anyway...enjoy.

Scrapfaith Layout

Happy Friday evening. I have just enjoyed sitting this evening and doing nothing....nothing except cleaning up, laundry and a little scrapbooking. Maybe I should just say I have enjoyed sitting in my own house for a bit. Seems like I don't spend a lot of time here. Anyway, here is the new scrapfaith layout. Emma and I sat in my little room here for several hours tonight. She played with the big square punch and was making houses out of her punched out squares. Kept her entertained for hours. I completed a little book about a day way back in Sept when we went to watch my brother's band play. I'll post it when I get it scanned or photographed. Oh by the way, I have now labeled my layouts (at least for the past year of posts) so if you want to see them look to the right and click on scrapbook layouts. Gonna go now, need to finish my book....Watership Down...never read it. Got it from Jeremy, apparently one of his favorite books. It is pretty interesting, almost done with it.

finally....

Here is my album I finished this weekend. These were from my lovely trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in January. It was so beautiful and warm there. Wish I was basking in the sun right now =). Should have more stuff this week to show you as well. The new layout for the scrapfaith website and of course miss Emma's b-day means I will actually get the camera out again. Sorry about the quality of some of these photos below, but I just didn't feel like taking them over again. I figured you might get the point. Have a great day.

There is hope....

for a more exciting post in the future, but as for today you are out of luck. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it, but I'm going to a scrapbooking get together on Saturday and so I should have some stuff to show you after that. I am not a scrapbooker that scraps with people. I do it by myself. I have tried to scrapbook with my sister and mom. My mom usually sits and complains about how terrible her pages look, my sister cranks out 50 at a time, and I sit and make fun of all things scrapbooking...you see at one point in time I absolutely refused to scrapbook and thought it was the stupidest thing ever...obviously my opinion has changed, but I have a reputation to uphold in their company. So I'm going to this thing where I will be by far the most experienced and psychotic scrapper there and will be spreading my vast knowledge (sarcasm there) and supplies with some lovely women. Should be fun, I hope.

--I'm waiting for some frames that I ordered to arrive (shipped today) to put in my bedroom redo and when I get them and figure out what to put in them, hang them, I will be about ready to reveal my new room

Let's see....

what have I been up to? Working a lot. Had to word a weekend (gasp!) and I'm so spoiled that it has completely thrown me off my schedule. I have been attempting to gather things for my bedroom redecoration. Spent much time on Saturday looking for a stupid bedside table and was unsuccessful...finally ordered one online and am waiting for that to arrive. Once that does I will put the room together and share pictures of it. Made arrangements to repair my beautiful car as on Friday night a stupid stupid deer flung itself at my rear bumper and knocked 1/4 of it off. I hate deer. I have owned this car since August and this is the second time I have visited the bodyshop (1st time got hit in a parking lot)...they love me there. The car gods on the other hand hate me. Last night I had a minute and I started a little album for my Punta Cana trip. I'm not sure why I can't do a "big" page anymore...but it seems to frighten me so I will just keep doing little pages until that passes. Anyway, here is the cover. That is all for now...later.

A little layout

Hello....it has been awhile. Just feeling a little overwhelmed with how busy my life has been lately and blogging has fallen down on my priority list. Did have a moment of free time this evening so I made this:

I am taking a class at Jessica Sprague . I took the first one in the fall and now the 2nd. I would highly recommend it if you are interested in learning some digital stuff. You can work at your own pace (I'm already 3 weeks behind =), the lessons are there forever, and how she teaches it really makes a lot of sense. Commercial over. Anyway, this is the layout from week 1. It is the lovely Emma in November of 2006.
In decorating news, I finished paiting my bedroom. I need to do a little more shopping and then I will reveal my new room. I'm sure you are all super excited. Anyway, that is all for now. Have a lovely day.

35......

Hard to believe, but I turned 35 today. That sounds incredibly old for some reason. I guess I don't have a problem admitting it though as I feel like I am at my best...physically, emotionally, career, motherhood, relationships...things have never been better (knock on wood). 35 is good....now if I could only just stay here =).
I had a good birthday. Woke up to a poster in the kitchen that Tonya and Bella made wishing me a happy birthday as well as cookies and an i-tunes gift card. Worked a bit...got a dozen roses and a lovely card that made me smile along with them. Being that it was Wednesday, I had a half day off. So I decided to go shopping in honor of my birthday. And shop I did. I decided to stop being cheap for a day (hopefully I won't regret it). I also decided somewhere in the shopping trip that a 35 year old woman shouldn't have a bedroom that looks like a college dormroom and so my remodeling project begins. I bought a few things and am in the thinking stages of buying some more. I'm about to go take some before pictures and hopefully in a week or two will have some afters....we'll see how that goes. I even bought paint this evening after a lovely dinner with my children. I'll leave you with a photo of the girls trying on their dominican spoils and showing me their muscles. Who do you look like?

Inspired by the great Emilie I too tried to find out the celebrities my family most looks like. It never fails....if someone comes up to me and says "now who do you look like?" I will always hear either one of these two names...so I was not surprised when these two faces popped up. Also popping up on both of these photos was Freddie Prinz Jr...not sure what to think of that one =). Also did the girls....I think Emma is a little too young for it, she didn't pop up with too many options. Anyway, have a lovely day.

Bella's Birthday book

Here is Bella's finished birthday book...nothing exciting at all, but finished, so that is good. I got a little frustrated with the whole board book concept with a set number of pages...kind of decreases the flexibility of the whole thing...like the ringed ones better. Anyway...enjoy.
